Configuration Management
Configuration management or change management is the process of tracking the version changes for a software. This involves maintaining different versions of all the program files that make up a piece of software along with all the versions of the database scripts. There are several tasks associated with the software configuration management process and requires a software configuration manager assigned to these tasks for each project. Some of the important tasks performed by the configuration manager are ensuring daily code check in, streamlining the build process, base lining the code at different stages of the development process and creating and maintaining multiple branches of the code.
