Sales Contest System For Cable Company

A system that used online gaming concept to increase participation from sales teams for a large cable company. The system provided the interface to create teams and maintain scores so the top players can claim various prizes.

Project Summary

This system was created with the purpose of inducing competition between sales teams. Online gaming was the underlying concept used to create such a system. The system had various sales teams setup as players and the users could choose their team and players. All teams could retain five players and if any of the user’s team held the top ranking then they could win a prize from the players shop using a wheel of fortune. This website was developed as a WordPress website with various team/player management features implemented as custom WordPress plugins. User experience was one of the key focuses in this project to create an excellent gaming experience for the players.

Various gaming algorithms to match the business requirements were programmed within the plugins. We also developed an online wheel of fortune using the algorithm to generate random numbers for the player shop implementation. We created this WordPress website in record time to meet the sales content deadlines. Several thousand user accounts were also setup as a part of system to enable players within the organization to login and start playing without requiring a signup.
